What are women's experiences of conflict in the Philippines and in Uganda? How can they use United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 in a way that can improve their lives? The International Women's Tribune Centre (IWTC) has produced two sets of prototype radio programmes about UNSCR 1325 with the aim of raising awareness about the varied aspects of the resolution including the National Action Plans on UNSCR 1325, as well as other international conventions and legal mechanisms relevant to women in conflict situations. These programmes represent IWTC's efforts to develop a core group of broadcasters, print journalists and other media practitioners who will ensure a sustained flow of information about this Resolution among other legal mechanisms and how they can be used to protect and promote women's rights. They have been produced in partnership with community broadcasters in the Philippines and Uganda. The first set was dubbed and broadcast in English and Filipino for audiences in the Philippines and other parts of Asia. The second set was made available in English, Luganda and Swahili for listeners in Uganda and other conflict-affected countries in Africa. The radio programmes are available on the website in the various languages, as are the scripts that have been used for the productions.
