Short Summary |
The Working Group on Gender Issues brings together
a range of practitioners and policy makers working in this area. The
third meeting discussed gender mainstreaming in Telecommunication
Development Bureau activities, the World Summit on the Information
Society and the World Telecom Development Conference, among other
issues. Presentations included: an E-village in Jordan, the Pan-African
Association on Women in Telecommunications and Information, Gender
and ICT projects in Serbia and Montenegro, recommendations from the
Regional Symposium on Women and Information and Communication Technology
in Cairo 2003, gender mainstreaming in the information society, gender
and ICTs in the Americas, and creation of women's community telecentres
in Benin. Most of these presentations are available on this site,
