The Latin America Hub of the Pathways of Women's Empowerment Research Programme Consortium (RPC) is based at the Núcleo de Estudos Interdisciplinares Sobre a Mulher (NEIM), located at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. The hub's research aims to investigate and analyse, on the one hand, women's organising around empowerment issues, building constituencies for gender justice, changing narratives of sexuality, and how broader changes within the region have contributed to these struggles, and, on the other, how all of these struggles and processes have resonated in the different women's individual pathways towards empowerment. Research projects include: • Conceptualising Empowerment in Brazil: Policy Discourse and the Discourse of Feminist NGOs • Changing Times, Changing Lives: Women's Empowerment through Generations in Bahia, Brazil • Building Constituencies for Political Reform: Quotas as an Instrument of Change • Learning for Change: The Experience of Brazil's Feminist Schools for Women Politicians • Pathways of Women's Empowerment through Legal Strategies: The Case of Maria da Penha Law • Empowering Domestic Work: The Organizing of Domestic Workers in Brazil • Feminisms and the Struggle for Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights: the Brazilian Experience • Zone: A Study of the Sex Workers' Radio Station in Bahia.
