However, I have found it necessary to repeat this phrase as I have become more engaged responding to various enquiries about sexual rights and regulation in the region, especially as they relate to queer sexualities. I was born in and grew up in rural Trinidad. I have spent some time working in St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Barbados. After spending about half my life in the region and much of the rest of my life thinking about the Caribbean, I feel I’m just beginning to know just some small parts of it.
