Gender at Work is a new knowledge network for gender equality and institutional change in India founded by the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID), the World Alliance for Citizen Participation (CIVICUS), the Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) and the United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM). The website aims to develop new theory and practice on how organizations can change gender-biased institutional rules (the distribution of power, privileges and rights), values (norms and attitudes), and practices. Partners of this initiative include development and human rights practitioners, researchers and policy makers.

III. Call for Proposals:

Scholarship Fund for Palestinian Refugee Women in Lebanon

The Canada-based International Development Research Centre (IDRC) manages this programme, developed with other donors. The fund has so far benefitted 90 Palestinian refugee women registered with UNRWA or the Lebanese Government who are in pursuit of undergraduate university degrees. They were awarded scholarships and are undertaking university studies in various fields such as biology, engineering, business and science.

Training Course on Women's Studies-Iran

The Institute for Women's Studies and Research, a non-governmental organization based in Tehran is holding a week-long training course on women's studies, 19-24 July 2003. The goal of holding this training course (taught in English) is to familiarize participants with the field of women's studies and it's impact on other fields. The Institute is the first non-governmental organization to design a women's studies course in Iran.
