This audit is the second in a two-stage process, and is meant to assess the
extent to which the international community is addressing the needs of women
in conflict and re/construction.

- Conflict, Post-conflict, and HIV/AIDS – the Gender Connections: Women,
War and HIV/AIDS: West Africa and the Great Lakes, Benjamin, Judy A., 2001
This project conducted in Rwanda and Sierra Leone shows how gender inequalities
among refugees and internally displaced populations significantly increase vulnerability
to HIV infection.

- PeaceWomen

The website works toward rapid and full implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. To this end, PeaceWomen seeks to provide a clearinghouse for accurate and timely information on Resolution 1325 and for the ideas and strategies of the diverse actors - from grassroots women to the staff of the UN system - so as to help facilitate education and mobilization efforts for the rapid and full implementation of Resolution 1325. PeaceWomen is a project of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) http://www.wilpf.int.ch/, an international NGO dedicated to women and peace issues.
- Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace (WISCOMP)
WISCOMP is an initiative of the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, New Delhi. Planned as a South Asian initiative, WISCOMP promotes the national, regional and global leadership of women by enhancing their participation and expertise in the areas of security, non-violent engagement, conflict transformation and multi-track diplomacy.
III. BRIDGE Call for Submissions:

BRIDGE forthcoming pack on Gender and Citizenship
BRIDGE is currently working on the latest in our series of Cutting Edge Packs which will be on the theme of 'Gender and Citizenship'. We are looking for guidelines, papers, case studies and examples of good practice as resources, and as material for In Brief, which will be produced alongside the pack.
The Gender and Citizenship Cutting Edge Pack will consist of:
- Overview report outlining the main issues
- Collection of supporting resources - summaries of key texts, case studies
and tools, and key organisations
- Gender and Development In Brief - a bulletin containing a short summary of
the Overview Report and two short articles on interesting initiatives.
If you have any suggestions or contributions in the form of case studies, good practice examples, tools, guidelines or other resources (online or print) that we could include in the Gender and Citizenship pack, please send them to Charlie Sever, Research and Communications Assistant email: C.Sever@ids.ac.uk Although we cannot include all submissions, we really value your input, so please do keep us up to date with news of your projects.
