GenderIT.org emerged from the Association for Progressive Communications Women's Networking Support Programme's (APC WNSP) advocacy work in information and communications technologies (ICTs). It was created in response to the need by ICT advocates and policy-makers for examples on national policy, gender-sensitive language, and tools for lobbying. The website features sections dealing with WSIS II; economic empowerment; education; health; violence against women; armed conflict; cultural diversity and language; communication rights; universal access; Free and Open Source Software (FOSS); and governance.

WSIS Gender Caucus

This is the WSIS Gender Caucus (GC) website -a multi-stakeholder group consisting of women and men from national governments, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and the United Nations system. The strategic objective of the WSIS-Gender Caucus is to ensure that gender equality and women’s rights are integrated into WSIS and its outcome processes. The website's main sections include advocacy and lobbying; capacity building; GC statements; research and documentation; national and regional programmes; electronic networking; and a listing of GC WSIS II-related events, including the "Women Claiming the Information Society (WOCTIS)" conference held in Berlin in September 2005.
